Thalapathy Vijay, who is presently shooting for director Venkat Prabhu's 'GOAT', is likely to team up with director H Vinoth for his 69th film. As announced, his 69th film will be Vijay's last film before he takes up politics full-time. According to reports, H Vinoth met actor Vijay and narrated a story which seems to have impressed him. It is rumoured that his last film will be produced by DVV Entertainment, who bankrolled Jr NTR, Ram Charan and SS Rajamouli's 'RRR'.
For Thalapathy Vijay's last film, filmmakers like Karthik Subbaraj, H Vinoth and RJ Balaji were in talks. Recently, Karthik Subbaraj announced his upcoming film with Suriya. Now, reports suggest that H Vinoth seems to have cracked a deal with Vijay. An official announcement regarding Vijay's upcoming film will be announced in the coming months.
It is said that Vijay might do a full-fledged political thriller as his last film, which could be a pre-cursor to his political entry. The 'Leo' actor announced that Vijay will contest in the 2026 assembly elections.
Vijay launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), earlier this year. The actor announced that he will enter politics full-time only in 2026 and will be involved in expanding his base for the next two years.
In his statement, he wrote, "According to me, politics is not just another job for me. It's a sacred job. Not just political heights, I understood that I need to learn the length and breadth of politics from my predecessors. I am preparing myself for it mentally. So, politics is not a hobby. It's my deepest desire. I want to involve myself completely. Hence, I will complete one more film that I committed to and become a full-fledged politician. This is how I'd pay my debts to the people of Tamil Nadu."
On the work front, Vijay is busy shooting for director Venkat Prabhu's 'GOAT', which is likely to release later this year or early next year.
